Woods' Silver Fleet have been serving and transporting dignitaries and Royalty on the Thames for over almost 7 decades - from Prince Charles' 21st Birthday party in 1971 to the 2012 Diamond Jubilee River Pageant. More recently, our present Queens’ Diamond Jubilee celebration Thames River pageant had at its centre the Royal Barge Gloriana, whose interior was designed by Woods Silver Fleets’ own Design and Development director, Kate Woods. The Royal Nore is the official Thames motor launch of HM The Queen.
Chairman and owner of the company, Alan Woods was appointed Waterman to H M The Queen in 1981, officially allowing him to accompany and sail the Queen on any trips she makes on The Thames. On his retirement in 1997, Alan was made, and remains, a Royal Extra Waterman. His son, Tom Woods, is MD of Woods' Silver Fleet and won the oldest annual event in the British Sporting Calendar, the Doggett’s Coat and Badge Race in 1999.
Woods' Silver Fleet now also own Savoy Pier, one of only a handful of privately owned central London piers, allowing seamless connections to transport links across the capital.
