History of Woods' Silver Fleet
From humble beginnings, the Woods’ family launched the first of their fleet in 1947. It was a simple wooden tourist boat, plying its trade along the River Thames. At the time, the country, and especially London, was recovering from the effects of World War II. Rationing for everyone was an inescapable, daily reality that also limited their hopes and aspirations for the future.
Although only a simple wooden built boat, the Woods’ family were offering people a glimmer of hope and a reason for optimism with this special experience.
For more than 60 years, the Woods’ family have slowly expanded, establishing their fleet to be one of the most prestigious venues for corporate events in London. With changing times, the family owned business has gone from strength to strength. The itinerary of one River Thames cruiser in 1947 is now a fleet of luxury yachts, world renowned for hosting private celebrations, weddings, corporate team building and corporate entertainment on the waves.
Woods’ Silver Fleet has hosted functions and celebratory parties for world leaders, A-list celebrities, and the pinnacle for any venue host, Royalty.
